Apprentices already face lower wages while juggling the rising cost of living. Cutting back their allowances makes it even harder for young people to complete their training—especially in regional areas like Forrest, where travel is often unavoidable.

This policy punishes the very people we should be encouraging: young Australians working hard to learn a trade, build a career, and fill the critical skills shortages across our nation.

I will continue to fight for apprentices and trainees in regional Western Australia, to ensure they get a fair go and the support they need to succeed.
