The cuts to travel allowances and hourly rates for NDIS providers in 2025 were a clear betrayal by the Albanese Government of regional Australians. By adopting a “one size fits all” approach in an attempt to mitigate their spending spree, the Government has ignored the reality of life in regional communities like ours.
In Forrest, where services are already scarce, we have seen providers cancel services or shut their doors altogether in just a matter of months. This is unacceptable. Families and children living with disability deserve better than a system that punishes them simply for living outside of metro regions.
I am standing up for NDIS participants and their families to ensure regional Australians get fair access to essential services. The Albanese Government must stop putting pressure on industries already at breaking point and start delivering the support our communities need.
