As the Federal Member for Forrest, one of my key priorities is advocating for the construction of a new terminal building at Busselton Margaret River Airport.

This project will deliver enormous benefits for the entire South West – from Busselton and Margaret River to Dunsborough and beyond. A modern terminal will unlock greater opportunities in tourism, trade, and regional aviation, while providing FIFO workers and local families with the facilities they deserve.

Regional airports are economic lifelines. They drive tourism, create jobs, and keep our communities connected to essential services like healthcare, business, and freight. Passenger numbers at Busselton Margaret River Airport have grown tenfold in the past decade – proof of our region’s vibrancy and potential. A new terminal ensures we can meet this growing demand well into the future.

We have already seen world class sport come to Bunbury. In 2025 Hands oval hosted multiple AFL, AFLW and International Soccer matches. It is clear our region is growing.

This project is about more than bricks and mortar - it’s about securing long-term growth and strengthening the South West’s place in the national economy. With international flights on the horizon, we will have new opportunities to showcase our pristine natural assets, grow export freight capacity, and welcome the world to our doorstep.

I am committed to advocating for practical, productivity-enhancing projects like this because I know how much they matter to the South West. Just as Nola Marino secured the Bunbury Outer Ring Road, I will continue the fight in Canberra to deliver the infrastructure our region needs to thrive.
