The South West has welcomed the addition of a brand-new Coles store at the official opening on Wednesday morning 22nd October in Dalyellup. In attendance included the Coles assistant state manager, Indigenous Elder Sharon Cook, Ben Small MP – Member for Forrest as well as local Coles staff members and community organisations such as the Dalyellup Dockers Football Club.

This Opening represents a significant investment in our region, with the new store set to provide over 100 jobs to the community and introduce stronger market competition for consumers.

Mr Small MP said the fact that this is the only new Coles store opened in WA this year is a clear reflection of the growing recognition of our region's prosperity on a national scale.

“Today is pretty special for our community here in the South West… It is a big vote of confidence in what we are up to.”

“We are growing up, we are becoming a thriving region that’s worthy of big investments.”

Mr Small MP stated in his address at the ceremony, that it was both an exciting and special occasion, adding that it was a privilege to attend his first official store opening.

Following the official proceedings, the store opened its doors to the public, marking the beginning of its first day of trading.
